Nitrogen Test Strips

Thanks to the generosity of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, PSCW has an extra supply of nitrate/nitrite test strips. We are offering these test strips to citizens and businesses of Scott County in two ways:

1. A PSCW representative can come to your property and conduct a one-time free water quality assessment using the nitrate/nitrite strips and other water quality parameters. We will show you how to use the equipment should you want to purchase your own monitoring equipment, and we will help you interpret the sample results during our visit. To set up a site visit, click here.

2. PSCW can mail you up to 8 nitrate/nitrate test strips for use on your own. We will include instructions for using the strips and interpreting the results, and will be available to assist you if needed. Please note that these supplies are limited, and they are only for nitrate/nitrite strips.

The sampling and results are completely confidential, as PSCW is not a governmental or regulatory organization. This effort is a way for Scott County citizens to get a better understanding of water quality concerns they may have on ponds, streams, tile lines, or wetlands.
